vintage recipe and a walk in the woods

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Thank you for all your sweet comments on my granny square quilt, and my pretty vintage piece, which now has a name (a book seat) thanks to all of you!! 
Since the holidays are coming upon us, I thought it would be fun to share a vintage recipe each Monday with you. This one is called "Cowboy Cake", and it looks simple, but sweet! Let me know if you try it, and how you like it!
Yesterday, I was able to make a quilt that has been on my project list using A Walk in the Woods charm pack. It is a baby or small lap size quilt, and it is my first tied quilt. I so happy with how it came out, especially with the cute red ties! 
I used 6 strands of red embroidery floss, and tied in all the corners. It was a fun process, and I can't wait to make another one!
For the backing I used four large strips of these two adorable prints. One thing that I love about Aneela Hoey's fabrics are how there is always a pretty grey line!! My favorite! ;)
 Another cute and comfy quilt to add to my growing collection. Quilt making is quite addicting, isn't it? Would love to know if you have you ever tied a quilt before? 
This is what I will be working on today. Some patchwork pretties for the shoppe! Are you working on any projects? Hope you have a lovely, autumn day!!

    I love love your quilt. The fabrics are so cute. I have only tied one quilt for my niece. Totally forgot about doing that. Thank you for sharing your recipe I am going to have to try it this weekend.

    That is such a fun idea to share a recipe on Mondays!

    Your baby/lap quilt is so cute and I am especially excited about it as daughter Kami has started making lap quilts for cancer patients. when she was going through radiation, she got so chilled and had heard about others making quilts and has given away two already. I am going to hurry and send this post to her so she might be able to get some ideas for future ones!

    That's one of the cutest quilts I've ever seen! I love how the grey makes it a little more modern. And even though there's a good amount of pink, it seems gender neutral.

    Cute recipe card..all typed by hand and vintagey! It sounds like it would be nice, all caramelly with brown sugar and a bit spicey too. I wonder if cowboys really eat it? Lovely fabrics and quilt..happy sewing.

    I recently made a recipe with almost the same ingredients. (I added pumpkin pie filling) I cut it into bars. It was so yummy!
    Your new quilt reminds me of my granny. As soon as I saw those ties I thought, "Granny!" lol. So sweet. Are those foxes?! I am in love with it! It would make a great baby shower gift. I think you should definitely add these to your shoppe! :)

    Oh...Heather! I love your darling mushroomy quilt with it's delightful blocks and sweet prints. Just look at that pink with those tiny little mushrooms dancing gaily across the background.
