quilt blocks and a winner...

A very happy Monday to you!
Hope that your weekend was lovely! Sorry I have been so quiet, but I have been working away trying to finish my first batch of goodies for the shoppe that will be going in at the end of this week.
I did take a break to finish my last three blocks for Donna's quilt Sampler and now I need to do the sashing. I am looking forward to seeing all the blocks together!

I am also apart of Donna's Sew Sweet Bee, which I am excited and a little nervous about, as there are quite the experienced quilters in the group, and I am far from that. This is my first block for Donna, a pretty lavender Jacob's Ladder.
Now, I know the third time is supposed to be a charm, but even after three attempts I can still not get all my triangle points to line up, and it's a 1/8 inch shy of 12.5. So, I will attempt a fourth hoping it will be just right for Donna and hopefully she won't regret having me in the group once she gets my block. ;)And any piecing tips on this block I would love to hear!
I haven't been able to start any Valentine crafts yet, besides these simple but sweet tinsel hearts that I have been making as part of my packaging for orders. I just took a tinsel stem and shaped it as a heart.
Another little peak at some sweetness coming soon! And, now to the winner of the Country Girls giveaway!
Congratulations to Heidi of On The Banks of Frog Creek for winning the sweet fat quarter bundle of Country girls from Simply Sweet Fabric! Yay! I will be sending you an email to get your address!

Thank you all who left a sweet comment on the giveaway! Well, I am off to give my Jacob's Ladder another try and work on finishing up all the new goodies. I will be back later in the week!

Wishing you a beautiful and crafty week!

a country girls giveaway::closed

Hello dear friends and a very happy day to you!
What a better way to start a new week than with a little giveaway! The sweetest Shay of Simply Sweet Fabric sent me some darling prints from Tasha Noel's newest line Country Girls, which I am lovin'! All of Tasha's fabrics are just so cute. And, Shay was so kind and generous to send me this fat quarter bundle for one of you dear readers! Yay!
Aren't they the cutest?
I love the flowers, duckies, and the blueberries! I am looking forward to making some sweet things with these fabrics and one of you lucky friends will have a chance to play with some, too! Or, if you would like some sooner you can find the bundle here!
::Now for some nitty gritty::
To take part of this giveaway, I kindly ask that you be a U.S resident. I'm truly sorry to have to do this again to my sweet overseas friends, but those shipping prices are still so ridiculous even for the smallest of parcels.♥

♥leave a comment letting me know you are a follower of my blog.
♥leave a comment about what crafty goodness you would create with this pretty bundle!
♥leave a comment letting me know you visited Shay's shoppe, Simply Sweet Fabric

That's it!! Make sure to leave a separate comment for each one!
You have until Sunday, January 26th until midnight(PST)to enter. I will be announcing the winner on Monday, January 27th.
Best wishes to you all!!

sweethearts

Hello and a lovely day to you!
Over the weekend I finished up my mother-in-law's birthday gift, which was this sweet heart quilted table topper. I really love how it turned out and it was inspired by the beautiful quilt that the lovely Helen made, which you can see here on her pretty blog! I fell in love with her quilt and wanted to make something on the smaller scale, so a table topper it was!
I added some blanket stitches and hand quilted around the hearts.
And, then did some simple machine quilting in the fabric squares. I love all these colors together and I am happy to say so did my mother-in-law! I might have to make one for myself if I get some extra time.
I stitched up these darling birds over the weekend and I am working on some others that will all be heading to the shoppe at the end of the month.
Along with these pretty heart coasters that are getting a little blanket stitching and will be ready to sweeten up those wintery days.

These lovelies are being made into pillow covers for the shoppe. The one on the right is a 50's fabric and the rose one is a feed sack, and both of them I am completely in love with!
Something I wanted to try new this year was different crocheted edgings for my tea towels. I did this one last night and love how pretty it turned out, but I still think that scallops have my heart! What do you think?

Wishing you all a fabulous and lovely week!

a wintry hello

Hello sweet friends and a very Happy New Year to you!
I hope that your Christmas was wonderful and blessed. It was a quite Christmas and new year for us, but it was nice to just relax, and enjoy the holiday season. This past week I have been catching up on some projects and of course planning a few new ones.
I have only a couple more hexie flowers to go and then it will be on to adding all the white ones to join them, which I don't think will be my favorite part, but hopefully it will go a little quicker than the flowers. I am quite excited to have this quilt finished!
I caught up on three of my blocks for Donna's quilt sampler, and I have only three more to go!
In the evenings I have been working on my ripple blanket which has been keeping me comfy and cozy. I am getting close to finishing which is good because I already have another blanket planned to start once I finish this one.
Some sweet vintage Vogart patterns arrived for Christmas and I can't wait to start stitching them for some new items in my shoppe!
And, there is nothing better than starting the new year with some pretty vintage fabrics to play with. I am working on a little quilted heart table topper for a gift this week and planning Valentine goodies for the shoppe. I look forward to visiting with you to see what you loveliness you are working on!
Wishing you a beautiful and crafty week!
