bless our home

Happy Friday and March 1st!
I can't believe how fast February went by, but that only means were just a little closer to beautiful spring and Easter! I have been working on a few gifts this week and getting ready to start decorating for Easter. I found a cute pattern for crocheted eggs that I am eager to try this weekend, and will have to show you if they come out cute!
Last night I finished this pretty "Bless our Home" embroidery for a wedding gift. I really love how pretty it turned out!
I used a vintage Vogart rose embroidery pattern, which I recently bought and have been wanting to try. The rosebuds look so sweet on the tiny pink gingham. I adore the vintage feel this piece has! And, there is just something about those pink roses that makes me smile!
Now, I need to finish the backing and it will be ready to be sweetly wrapped and treasured in its new home! I have a couple of friends who have birthdays coming up, so I maybe making a couple more, and even one for myself! ;)
I have been working on tying my vintage patchwork quilt. I decided to use pearl cotton embroidery floss this time, and so far I am liking it. On my last quilt I tied, I used embroidery floss, but didn't really like how it frayed after washing and drying it. So, hopefully this will not do the same.
After I am done tying, the binding needs to be sewn on to the back, and it will be done! Yay!
Do you have any fun or creative plans this weekend?
Well, I hope that you a most lovely day and beautiful weekend sweet friends!

happy valentine's day

Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope that you have a day filled with sweetness and love dear friends! And, thank you for all the love that you have given me through this little blog of mine! It has blessed me so!
I am almost finished with my little gingham project. A little hand stitching was done, and the finishing touches are being made. Something has overcome me lately with a sudden love for gingham and cross-stitch. I don't know what it is about the combination, but it just is so sweet!
There are some other projects that I have planned, so I ordered some more pretty colors to play with!!
I have a weakness for roses, and when I saw these plastic kitschy roses on this pretty blog, I knew I had to get some!
They are little cupcake toppers and I bought them from a cute shoppe called Sweet Estelle's. I love how they look in the red Pyrex bowl, and they would also make a lovely touch to a gift, too! So many craft ways you could use them!
I was in need of a new pin cushion, so I took some of my favorite vintage rose fabric and vintage lace, and sewed together this little one.
Even pins need a pretty place to rest! ;)
To celebrate Valentine's Day, I am having a one day sale in my shoppe! Enjoy 14% off your order when you enter the code "love" at checkout!

Sending you Valentine hugs, and wishing you a most lovely day and a beautiful weekend!

Thank you to sweet Meri for the adorable vintage bluebird image! ;)

pretty roses and a winner

Happy Monday!
This weekend went by so fast. Hope you had a wonderful one.
Oh, how I do love roses! I bought this beautiful red rose vintage tablecloth online, and was so excited to get it in the mail last week. It has never been used, even though there are some age stains from being stored for so long.
It is from the 50's and just gorgeous! This will be part of my Christmas collection of vintagey tea towels coming in November. :)
I would love a fabric line with these roses! How beautiful would a quilt be with these pretties! So dreamy!
A sweet vintage rose cross-stitch dresser doily. This is something I would love to start making. I really want to expand on my crocheted edgings and cross-stitch patterns. So, I am on the hunt for a vintage pattern book. Another project on the list!
A banner has been made, along with price tags for the boutique! I just got a pretty vintage sheet in the mail today, and I can't wait to show you what I am using it for!
I just finished this lovely sign for my booth. I used one of my favorite doilies, with a pretty mint green scalloped edging, and some vintage rose fabric. The background is a vintage cloth napkin. I wish I found more than one. How pretty would a whole set of these be at your dinner table! I love all these colors together, and I'm happy with how it turned out.
I am still figuring out where to hang it, but it will go somewhere. Everything is coming together for the boutique, and I have a little less than two more weeks to finish up.
Congratulations Rachel from A Little Bit Vintage and Wildflower Photography Studio on winning my birthday giveaway!! Yay! I will be sending you an email! Thank you again for all your sweet birthday wishes!
Wishing you all a beautiful and lovely fall week!

those elegant shutters...

Well, I finished the vintage shutters! What do you think? I was going to do vintage linens, but I wanted something a little brighter for the summer. So, I chose some of my favorite Heather Bailey fabrics. Just love them!!
This is what they looked like before...
And, now they are elegant shutters to brighten up my home. I love that I will be able to change the fabrics with the seasons. Already have ideas for the fall and Christmas! ;)
I have been waiting for a few months for this line of fabric, Seaside, to come out from October Afternoon. I love all their craft papers, and had the papers of these prints. So, when I heard that they were making a fabric line of it, I was so excited! It just came out last week, and you can get some for your sweet fabric stash at the Fat Quarter Shop
Here are a couple of grannie blocks using the sweet fabrics! I have two more to go, and I am finished!! Then, it will be time to put the quilt top together!
Some patriotic granny squares since I am into the red, white, and blue lately.
And, here is my lovely piles of grannies! It looks like I have made great progress for a blanket, but when I lay them out on the floor, they would make a small rug. ;) Okay, maybe a little bigger. So, maybe by Christmas I will have enough to make a lap size blanket. We'll see! Wishing you a beautiful day sweet friends!

elegant shutters

At the flea market on Sunday, I came across these elegant shutters. Aren't they so neat! I have been looking for some small old window frames, and when I saw these, it was love.
Here is the back side. There are little rods on the top and the bottom, and I am hoping they pop out somehow. My plan this week is to replace the yellow fabric with some pretty rose fabric. I am thinking of doing three different fabrics, or just keeping it with one. Not sure yet, I will have to play around.
I also had some great luck with pretty vintage tablecloths. There is one vendor I always go to because they have such great deals, and then I came across a new vendor who had hundreds of hankies, and tablecloths. I had to say no to the hankies, it was very hard, but they were a little pricy. The tablecloths on the other hand were such a good deal, and in beautiful condition.
I am already thinking ahead for fall and Christmas. These will all become some pretty vintagey tea towels! The pretty pink one will be coming to the shoppe soon!
There is one vendor that has boxes, and tables all piled high with vintage linens. This is one is a favorite to go to, and it is always so hard not to take all of it with me. I bought three beautiful table runners, some pretty doilies, and a cross-stitch and embroidered "God Bless Our Home". I just adore the middle one with the cross stitch rose. Cross-stitching a rose is on my project list, so these are a daily reminder and inspiration for me!
Here is the pretty runner on my table. I just love it! Such work and detail went into it.
I was thinking of framing this, but then I thought how sweet it would look as a mini quilt to hang on my wall. The pansies are so pretty! Happy Wednesday...hope your day is lovely!

roses...

Well...I bought some more vintage Meyercord roses decals! Can you believe it! I know, but I can't resist these beauties!!

I had this perfect shabby white bench that was in desperate need of prettiness! I chose the red roses with the sweet yellow butterflies; perfect for spring!

If you have never used decals before, they are so great! You cut them up, soak in warm water for a little bit, then peel carefully, and place on your most lovely piece you're adorning.

Well, that sounds easy...but this decal was not cooperating with me! It kept ripping and separating!! You can tell in the first picture my best attempt to put it together. I guess it gives it a more vintage and shabby look, which I love!

Here are some of my enamelware that I used those smaller rose decals on, that I bought awhile back! They just make my crocheted dish towels, look so much prettier in their holder!

I just love how the roses made these cute enameled pots, pop with color on my kitchen wall!! Do you have any decals that you just love?
