a vintage deer pillow

Over the last weekend, I was inspired by a kitschy deer pillow in a magazine and really wanted to create my own version of it. The most lovely Keren of Free Pretty Things For You has the sweetest vintage graphics, and I knew that her adorable vintage 'Oh Deer' image from her etsy shoppe would be perfect for the pillow.
I just adore how it came out! I used one of my favorite vintagey floral and pin dot fabrics, that I have been wanting to use in a pillow for awhile.
I adorned it with a vintage white doily, and crocheted a most lovely red scalloped edge. I can never get enough of those scallops!! ;)

The deer has such a precious face, and makes this such a sweet pillow.
It was a fun and easy process, and maybe I can do a little tutorial if you are interested. I already have some other projects in mind using sweet Keren's adorable vintage graphics!
Well, know I need to get back to my project list, and enjoying this beautiful, autumn weather! I am hoping to be adding some new items in my shoppe next week. And there is still time to get 15% off your order for the 'autumn sale'.

Wishing you all a most lovely and crafty weekend!!

  18. Hi Heather, your new cushion is so cute and sweet. I used to have deer ornaments just like that when I was a kid..and even then they were old fashioned and I didn't like them very much..now I wonder where they are! The red scallops are perfect.

  39. Lovely!

I've wanted to buy some of Keren's vintage graphics and have been a chicken about printing them and ironing them onto fabrics. What process and product did you use to transfer the deer to the fabric?
