Happy Friday!
Thank you for all the lovely comments on my advent calendar! It was so fun to make, and it will definitely be a treasured Christmas piece. We got our Christmas tree yesterday, and I am excited to decorate it this weekend. Do you have any sweet plans for the weekend?
Here are a couple vintage ads from Herman Bros. company and are they have some great bargains! What would you like for your home this Christmas? I would love the Capehart 17 inch Consolette and Norge Deluxe Washer! Oh my, wouldn't those be neat to have! ;)
Some more Christmas decorations are sprinkling my home.
A pretty felt holly garland that I made last year, and...
Santa mugs are out holding pretty vintage ornaments. I bought about 12 of these mugs at an estate sale, but I don't think they are vintage. It looks like they were painted by the owner and most of them are unfinished, but they are still cute. ;)
The stockings are hung and ready to be filled. I made these last year using the patterns from Thimble Blossoms. I am sure you can tell which one is my husbands! ;)
I had to get some lovely crocheted scallops in my Christmas decorations, so here is a little peak at a project I am working on. I'll show you more about it next week.
These wintry squares are becoming such a pretty pile and I am getting eager to finish this small blanket!
Wishing you a wonderful and creative weekend!
Heather, you are one busy lady!! Have fun decorating your tree this weekend!!

DeleteOh how I love seeing the old advertisement! I think those items were pretty pricey for 1950! I think the scalloping around the book/sheet music is precious...I love that..and of course all your sweet crochet pieces! Can't wait to see PICS of your tree when decorated!! Have a wonderful weekend! Roxie
ReplyDeleteThey are so fun to look at! Thank you so much! Happy weekend to you! xo Heather
DeleteI laughed out loud when I read about your mugs! There are at least a dozen Deseret Industries thrift stores along the Wasatch Front and my sister and I have been to them all. We kept finding hand painted santa mugs everywhere we went. The funny thing was...they were all signed by "Phyllis!" She gave Santa long girlie lashes...we could tell her style from across the store! lol! And she favored a purply maroon color...yikes!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! A couple of them actually have quite long girlie lashes, but no signature of Phyllis! Oh my, purply marron. Too funny! ;) xo Heather
DeleteI love your crocheted Carol sheets! Inspired! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Ada!! xo Heather
DeleteI can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve with the sheet music with sweet scallops all around. We should call you The Scallop Whisperer. Everything is better with scallops on it!

DeleteHeather! oh! can you imagine how long it took that poor ol' advertising guy to make that ad back in the 50-60's? What a spoiled life we live with all of our techno gadgets and this very computer i am using?

DeleteI just love the vintage ads! You sent me one last summer from "Ricks", also in New Jersey. I saved it because...Mr. Wonderful's name is: RICK! It's a Christmas ad and I'm envisioning it framed with a photo of little boy of mine over the top...
ReplyDeleteThanks! That is right, and how perfect that Mr. Wonderful's name is Rick!! So cool! Sounds like a beautiful vision! xo Heather

Nina x
Thank you Nina! xo Heather
DeleteCrocheted sheet music ... now how cute is that?
ReplyDeleteI love all the vintage Christmas touches around your home. The crocheted edged music is especially lovely. We had a very busy weekend.... Went with friends at a Christmas market, and then went on a night time garden luminary walk. We also volunteered for an afternoon at a community Christmas shop that helps those with greater needs. We are so lucky to be blessed with enough and it's important for us to give back.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! A Christmas Market sounds like such fun, and how neat to do a night time garden luminary walk! So wonderful!! Such a blessing you were to those people!! Have a great day! xo Heather
