Happy Wednesday!
This week has been quite busy, and I can't believe how close we are to Christmas! I truly love this time of year, and only wish it went a little slower. I finished my Christmas quilt last night, and when I wanted to take photos of it this morning, it was dark and rainy outside. So, hopefully the sun will shine later this week for me to take a few to show you.
Awhile back I bought this sweet Good-Lite Christmas light set at an estate sale. When taking out my Christmas goodies to decorate, I thought I would plug them in and see if they worked! Well...
They do!! So neat! It is a small strand of 6 pretty bulbs that I hung on my vintage coat rack.
They only get turned on for a few minutes when I want to look at them, because I don't trust leaving them on all day. They do make me so happy, and wishing I had more!
If you are still shopping for last minute gifts, I am having a little Christmas sale in my shoppe before I take a break for the holidays!!
Wishing you all a cozy and creative day!!
I am linking up with the sweet Sue of It's A Very Cherry World for Rednesday! Head over to see more Christmas reds!

LOVE the vintage lights! I actually have a couple of sets but didn't really think of actually USING them in anyway!! I think I may need to break out my vintage Mickey Mouse/Noma lights and see how they light up :)

Thanks! Yes, you should see if yours work! They are so neat lit up! xo Heather
DeleteVery sweet Heather! I don't trust my vintage lights either. I have a strand around my mantle. I never walk off and leave them on! Too scary! Merry Christmas to you!

Thank you Denise! Oh, aren't they so neat to have! ;) Sending you Christmas Joy!! xo Heather
DeleteHEATHER - STOP IT! ohmygosh!!! that little bunny and elephant are so strong in my childhood memory. i must have had that book when i was a kid. what is the published date on it, oh my!?!
ReplyDeletebig (hug) ! wow.
Oh fun! It doesn't have a date because all the pages are missing. Maybe 50's? They are such sweet characters! xo Heather
DeleteI love the graphics on those old boxes of lights as much as the lights themselves! The names are usually pretty good, too. Good idea to not leave them on all day, I think!
ReplyDeleteI do, too!! Have a great day!! xo Heather
DeleteBeautiful pictures. The Santa paint book is so cute. I really like your blog banner, the little blue birds are sweet. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sarah!! So happy to have you here! Have a lovely day! xo Heather
Deletefabulous lights......amazing they work and look so gorgeous! it has warmed me on a freezing cold night just looking at them glowing! x
ReplyDeleteThank you and I am so glad they warmed you up sweet friend! xo Heather
DeleteWell, as long as it's the "Good Lite Set" you can plug 'em in. I wouldn't want you to burn the house down with the bad lite set which is also 55 years old!
ReplyDeleteWell, even the Good-Lite Set are not is the best condition, so I promise I won't keep them on! ;) How are you doing? xo Heather
DeleteThat is an amazing graphic...I love a great coloring book and keep them handy for embroidery patterns. Smiles..Renee
ReplyDeleteOh, such a great idea! I only wish this had the pages in it, but they are all missing. I will keep this in mind on my hunts!! ;) xo Heather
DeleteLove your Christmas reds today. The coloring book illustration is so darling and how fun to find vintage lights and they work. Yippie!

DeleteEEEEEEEEEEK! They DO WORK! Love those! And love seeing a little corner of your home!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Heather! I, too, wish the season would pass a little more slowly. Every year I say that I'm going to make things all year long....and, then, suddenly...It's December again.
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas and all the lights, Christmas services, packages, family, children...sewing, fudge...Oh...You name it! I love it all!!!
Blessings to you, my sweet friend,
Carolynn xoxo
Merry Christmas Carolynn! I love it for all those reasons and more, too!! Have a blessed day! xo Heather
DeleteHi Heather...
ReplyDeletewhat great old Christmas lights.
I remember having that same kind, as a kid.
Guess that makes me old to.....yep.
For whatever reason, we had one pink bulb.
I would lay under the tree and look up at the lights and try to spot the pink bulb.
With the lights on, and the tinsel hung, everything always looked so magical.
Enjoy this wonderful Christmas season, and all the magic that it holds.
Thank you Kerin!! Oh, what a wonderful memory! I loved hearing it and can imagine how magical that was! May you also have a joyful Christmas season sweet friend!! xo Heather
DeleteThose lights look so festive! I agree about wishing we could stretch the holiday season. I am taking vacation all next week and hoping I actually have time to bake - yay!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I am taking a vacation after this week, too!! Time to enjoy this joyful season!! xo Heather
DeleteIt has been a busy week..and I have missed a couple of days of blogging with all of the Christmas goings on! When we moved to our town just over eight years ago the streets were decorated with lights that must have been made in the fifties...huge round ones shaped like light bulbs they were. They have only just replaced them..a pity really 'cos the old ones had such character, though I suppose they got to the stage that the bulbs couldn't have been replaced.
ReplyDeleteOh, such a bummer they replaced them! Wonder where they are? Hopefully they didn't just throw them away!! Have a great day! xo Heather
DeleteWonderful lights, great they still work :) x
ReplyDeleteThank you!! They are fun! xo Heather
DeleteWorking vintage lights? So fun!!
ReplyDeletechris
I know!! They are fun!! ;) xo heather
DeleteHow sweet those little lights are. I have 1 string from my parents tree just like that and they still work too. Love them!
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful that you have them from your parent's tree! So special!! xo Heather
DeleteLove the old "big" lights & have some too! Somehow I've missed following your blog, but not anymore! :) Pam
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Pam!! So happy to have you here!! Wishing you a beautiful day! xo Heather
DeleteI love the graphics on old Christmas boxes and have picked up several boxes of old lights just for them. I never have plugged them in before but you got me thinking that I should try them out. I love the Santa Paint Book! So dang cute:-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays & Rednesday!
Erica
I love the graphics, too! Yes, you should give them a try, you never know!! Wishing you a joyful holiday season!! xo Heather
DeleteWhat a fantastic way to display your lights. The graphics on the box are super!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! They are pretty neat!! xo Heather
DeleteHello sweet Heather! I can't believe how close we are to Christmas either! Like you, I wish it would slow down! I love Christmas and it goes by too quickly! The Santa Claus paint book is adorable! You have the sweetest vintage pretties! Love your lights too. I am so glad you can enjoy them. I wonder if they could be rewired, so they would be safer? Your home is so lovely sweetie! How kind of you to offer a discount in your lovely shop! I love everything in it! You are so creative and talented dear friend! Have a wonderful evening! Lots of love, Paula xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Paula!! Have a lovely night! xo Heather
DeleteYour Christmas lights are darling displayed on the rack. I like the little red beads on them and you have the original box too - sweet! I have an old strand that I have been lighting but I need to find some replacement twinkling bulbs. Enjoy these last days before Christmas.

Love the paint book!!
ReplyDeleteI have found a few sets of vintage lights, but I don't use them anymore, they just get too hot. I use the boxes for decoration though.
