peaches n' cream

Happy Monday!
Hope that your weekend was wonderful and thank you for all the sweet valentine wishes! The weather has been so beautiful, so I spent most of the weekend outside, and it has me so excited for spring. It is my favorite time of year, so I can't wait!
Well, I have made it my goal this year to learn to crochet all of my favorite vintage pot holders that I have collected or have seen in pattern books. After I bought this pretty jade one a few weeks ago from an estate sale, I really wanted to make one of my own, but didn't have the pattern.
Then, the sweet Haafner of ByHaafner shared with me this link for the vintage daisy pot holder pattern. So, with spring in mind I got out my peach and cream yarn, and started crocheting this pretty daisy. The pattern was simple, which is always a plus, since some of the vintage patterns can be a little confusing. I ended up making a few changes to the pattern to make it look more like the vintage one that I have.
I really love how it came out! So cute! I know that I will be making a few more in some pretty spring colors. And, it makes a sweet addition to my growing collection.
Last week I was so happy to have won this lovely lot of vintage pot holder books on ebay, and for such a great deal. There are so many adorable patterns in these books, and it was fun to read all the advertising inside. I will have to get some of these pages scanned to show you.

I finished my little gingham project, which I am excited for you to see! So, I'll be back later in the week to show you! Are you working on a sweet project?

Wishing you a wonderful and creative week!

Oh my gosh, I love the potholders. I have a pretty good collection of vintage crochet books. I wish I had known you were looking for a certain pattern, I could have searched for you! I love the one you made, and am very impressed. I crochet but have a hard time following patterns. I also LOVE the gingham stitchery project, and the quilt before that . . . I guess I just love all the things you do! Thanks for visiting and leaving the nice comment, I really appreciate it. Have a wonderful week my friend.

Sigh... do I have to go to work? Love all the fun vintage potholder pattern books you found. I need to work on reading patterns... they are still pretty much Greek to me.
