a good weekend for treasures

 Happy sweet day to you!
I finished another pretty star, and am loving how quick they are to make compared to the hexies, but I still love making those, too!
These sweet pinwheels arrived for my quilt from the lovely Kerri of Sew Deerly Loved!! Aren't they pretty!
Well, it was such a good weekend for lots of sweet new treasures!! The two estate sales I went to were so reasonable with prices, which was such a nice change, and no tax! :)
I found some Christmas goodies, linens, a beautiful lace tablecloth, plastic roses, a darning kit, and...
One sweet item that I was excited to find was this darling rose hankie wash bag, with this cute typed poem attached.
My cute new puppy pillow all washed and bringing some charm to my home!
The second estate sale I only went the second day for half-off and came home with these adorable quilt blocks. I just love the kitties!!
  Some Halloween goodies!
Wooden checkers, honeycomb bells, crocheted books, buttons, cards, and some lovely blue and silver ornaments that will be great for 4th of July!
And, these beautiful bread doilies, and a neat cook book from 1925. So, I think I am good on treasures for the next month!

Well, wishing you all a lovely and creative week! And, sorry if I haven't come by to visit with you. I plan to be catching up and seeing what you have been up to today!

some new treasures

 Happy Sweet Day!!
Hope you are having a lovely week so far! The weather has been quite hot, and is going to get even hotter later this week, which I am not loving. How's your weather?
Another beautiful pinwheel arrived from the sweet Missy of Missy's Homemaking Adventures. So pretty and she used two of my favorite prints! Thank you Missy!
These gorgeous fabrics arrived from the lovely Shay of Simply Sweet Fabric, and I am loving the new Old New 30's from Lecien! Aren't they so pretty!
She has this sweet bundle set in her shoppe, if you would like to play with one, too!! Thank you Shay for having such sweet fabrics!!
I found this cute laundry bag at a thrift store recently.
So cute, and these would be fun to recreate. ;)
My mom sent me some more family treasures, and these are some of of the sweet things. The precious doll belonged to my mom that my great grandmother gave her. The baby bottle, Bambi, the glove cleaner, and pretty plate were all my great grandmothers.
These tea sets and milk glass vase were also my great grandmothers. I look forward to having some tea in those sweet pastel sets! There were some more treasures, but it was too hot to take more photos. ;) I think that family treasures are the best ones to have!
I am finishing up a few more items for the shoppe and will be re-opening this Friday! Thank you for all your sweet comments on my cherries! I love how the pink ones turned out, and will be offering them as this cute set of 4 pairs!
So, I am off to work away, and will be back Friday with new shoppe goodies!
Wishing you a beautiful and crafty day! xo

a pretty pinwheel and my baby things

Happy sweet day to you!
Hope your Easter was wonderful! Well, another pretty pinwheel has arrived from Miss Donna of Donna's Lavender Nest. I love the two prints she chose. So sweet together!
And, some pretty fabrics from her fabric shoppe came with it, too. Thank you so much Donna! I really can't wait to see all these pretty pinwheels together!
My mom sent me a box of my baby things, as she is just simplifying the things she has, and thought it would be nice for me to enjoy them now. And, in the near future it will be fun for me to have them for when we have a baby. These were some cute little things, and...
my favorite are the Big Bird and Cookie Monster shoes!!
Keeping with the Sesame Street theme a cute baby sleeping bag that went in my crib and car seat.
A sweet ripple afghan that my great grandmother crocheted for me and it is so soft!
A little rosebud dress and bonnet, and
two cute pink outfits. The one on the left looked handmade, but then I saw a tag and it was made in Italy. Quite fancy! ;)
A cute quilted jumper that has some storage stains, so hopefully I can get them out.
My baby book and a little planter sign. All so sweet to have and treasure now and I am so happy my mom kept it all these years for me! Do you have your baby things?
So, I have been busy working and planning some new items for the shoppe. This cute vintage inspired clothespin bag is what I have been working on this past weekend, and they will be making their way into the shoppe in May. I really love how cute it came out. And, of course it wouldn't have been complete without a scalloped edging. ;)
I was so lucky to find some more of that pretty Pam Kitty Morning floral fabric that I used, because I ran out and Stacy from Strawberry Blossom Mercantile had some left along with some pretty Lecien floral. Yay!!

Well, I am off to go work away in my sewing room. Wishing you a lovely and creative week! xo

pinwheel happiness

Hello and a happy day to you!
So, this month it is my turn for the Sew Sweet Bee and I am having everyone make a pinwheel block in aqua, pink, and yellow combinations with either florals, strawberries, or cherries. I was thinking of a summery quilt. The two above are ones that I made to add to the quilt. I really enjoy making pinwheels and they are probably my favorite block to make! Well, this week has been a very happy mail week with some blocks already arriving!
This pretty block was made by lovely Pam of Pam Kitty Morning!! Isn't is so pretty! I love her sweet fabrics!
And, she also sent along some cute stickies!! Thank you so much Pam!! I love your pinwheel!!
Next up is this gorgeous pinwheel was made by the lovely Amy of A Quilting Sheep!! Isn't it pretty!!
And, she sent some sweet fabric! Thank you so much Amy! I love your pinwheel!!
And, these next two are from the sweet Renee of Sewn with Grace! Aren't they both so beautiful! The one on the right she used a gorgeous blue feed sack, which I just love!
And, she sent along some vintage transfers! Renee knows how to bring a happy smile to my face. ;) Thank you so much Renee, I love your pinwheel blocks!!
I finally got a some time to do a little makeover with these cute skunks. I just added some floral and strawberry prints, and they're done! I would like to paint the frames one day, but I think they are pretty cute as they are.
And, my next little project for the shoppe is making my own version of these darling dress clothespin bags!

Thank you for all your supportive comments on my new items! I truly love what I do! Wishing you all a beautiful and crafty week! xo
