sweet vintage silverware chest

Happy Friday!!

Yesterday, I stopped off at a local thrift store and brought home this sweet jewelry box silverware chest. (Thank you to Kathy of Kluless for the tip that it could be for storing silverware, which totally makes so much more sense! Silly me.). I have never seen one before, and really liked the detail in the legs, and the scalloped edges. Isn't it cute!

The top opens up and there is a little section piece for necklaces silverware. I have some other plans for this sweet piece! 

 These are the two drawers, and it has the most beautiful brown lining inside...ha, just kidding! So, here is what I have already done...

 I ripped out the inside, and started clearing out all the paper stuck to the wood. I still have the drawers to do, so stay tuned! I'm going to be painting it and covering the inside with vintage wallpaper. I am deciding on a color. What would you do?

the sweetest treasures

One of the sweetest treasures to have are from those of dear friends. I was so excited when Renee of My Vintage Mending opened her beautiful Etsy shoppe last week!!

With cute goodies inside! How adorable are those mini tags!! 

And inside the bag...this beautiful vintage feed sack butler apron!! Oh my, isn't it gorgeous!! 

Such delicate and pretty details, with a vintage tea towel adorned with crocheted edging and beautiful blue floral feed sacks!! All of these just make my heart so happy!

A truly beautiful creation Renee!! Thank you so much for one of the sweetest vintage treasures!! 

And, what better timing to win a wonderful baking handbook in a giveaway from the most lovely Sherri of Little House in Paradise! Thank you so much Sherri for a generous and sweet gift! There are so many yummy recipes!! A few of my favorite are the Pistachio Tartlets with Créme Fraîche and Berries, Lemon Madeleines, Chocolate-Glazed Gingerbread Cakes, and Lemon-Blueberry Napoleons!! I better get my new apron on, and start baking!!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! 

On Saturday, I went to an estate sale, and came home with some lovely treasures. The lady who has the estate sales always has everything 1/2 off after 1, and I rarely go back, but this sale had so many neat things, I had to this time! I came home with two loads of goodies!! I will be showing them off throughout the next couple weeks. ;) 

 

This was one of the pretty treasures I came home with!! It is truly a piece of art! I thought it was a large quilted doily whenI bought it, but realized when I got home, it was a pillow cover. 

 The hand stitching is so perfect and tiny, and I am amazed at the skill this sweet lady had. Truly inspiring! Love the crocheted scalloped edging, with the pretty ric rac! Such a great idea! 

 The back was a hand drawn design that she hand stitched so beautifully. When you look up closely there are still the pen marks from her drawing this sweet design. Pretty neat, huh! 

 So after a good washing and stuffing with some cotton, I have a lovely new pillow for my chair. So bright and cherry! 

 In the mail today, I received a sweet little gift from the most lovely Velma of Down Our Country Road. I was lucky to win her adorable needle book from her giveaway last week!! So exciting!

 I love it!! Thank you so much Velma!! This is the sweetest needle book! I love the yo-yos adorned with cute buttons, and all the pretty fabrics. 

 Velma's hand stitching is beautiful, and all the sweet details are just perfect!!

 And, two more grannie blocks! I only have 7 more to go, and I am ready to put the quilt together. I just bought a pretty vintage rose sheet for the backing, so I am excited to get it done!
