vintage fabric scraps

Happy Sweet Day!
Hope that you are having a lovely week and are looking forward to some sweetness this weekend! Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my quilty goodness! You always know how to brighten my day!
The other day I was inspired through Pinterest to have a little crafty time with some Mod Podge and vintage fabric scraps. I have had this "N" that I bought awhile back at Hobby Lobby and was deciding on covering it in either yarn or fabric, but with a little inspiration, I knew the fabric was the perfect vintagey touch for it!
So, I layered away with all the pretty fabrics and now have a most lovely vintage letter "N" to display in my living room! A simple and sweet project!
Another hexie flower finished, and I think that I have finally figured out that I will need to make 28, with some half flowers for the edges. Hopefully you won't get tired of seeing them! ;)
What are your plans for the weekend? I will be working away on some sewing projects, and planning out my next set of vintage embroidery flour sack tea towels for the shoppe, and these will all be featuring some of the floral gingham fabrics from Lecien's new Flower Sugar line! Can't wait to show you!!

Wishing you all a beautiful and creative weekend!!

I also bought some of that lovely leicien fabric from sew dearly a while back and can't wait to use it for my shop which will hopefully (fingers crossed) be opening at the end if the year. 10. I'm off selling faeries at a local craft fayre this weekend. Your little oil lamp next to your nifty "N" made me smile we had a green one growing up as kids, came in handy during the power cuts of the early 70's ~ Sarah x

  11. Brilliant idea with the fabric and the letter. Emma would love something like that for her room. I always find inspiration whenever I visit your blog.

PS. I've always admired your typewriter too. My husband came home with a similar one yesterday from an estate sale. It's a tad bit rough and very dusty. I'm thinking of using it as part of a Halloween display.

  26. I think that N stands for, "No! You must give this to Janelle! She has a random N in her name and a couple of random Ns in her middle name too!" I adore what you did and I'm going to totally steal your idea. Not the N (rats) because I need a R. Now, I just need some vintage fabric scraps. Next estate sale I go to I know what I'm hunting for! LOVE this!
