Awhile back at an estate sale I bought a box of vintage linens, with sweet treasures that were waiting so patiently to be loved once again. This box had my name written all over it! :) I thought you would enjoy seeing some of these most lovely treasures!
I just adore vintage embroidery, and this sweet tea towel makes me smile every time I look at it. I have it hanging in my craft room for daily inspiration!
Love the spring colors, and precious details, especially the twist in the little towels or blankets.
These are some adorable embroidered Vogart kiddie quilt blocks.
What a cute turtle!
This little animal hanging is so cute, but I am not sure what it is. What do you think?
Sweet bunny for Easter!
I have tried searching for more of these kiddie quilt blocks, but so far I have had no luck. I am sure they will pop up again at another estate sale!
Loving the mittens on the kitty, and the marching bear and his flag!
Sweet squirrel nibbling away on its acorn.
I wish I could have met the wonderful lady whose hands did all this beautiful embroidery work!
I am planning making small patchwork quilt, using some children's 30's reproduction fabric. I need to finish the embroidery on a few of them, and then I will start piecing the quilt. I will keep you posted on my progress. :)
The last three quilt blocks are a little different from the other ones, but are so sweet, and unfinished. Yay, another project! I am looking forward to completing them, but I need to find some instructions on how to do it. I am thinking I can just start embroidering, but not sure! Let me know if you have ever embroidered one of these vintage blocks. :)
Of course, I have to end with some pretty hankies, and a cross-stitch towel I bought at a new little antique shop over the weekend. I can never say no to hankies. They get me every time! :)
I hope you have a most lovely and crafty week!
Oh dear there would be a fight over these. How sweet. That dog is beyond darling. What if one day I need a hanky and I can't find them anymore because they have all been bought? You know they don't make them anymore! You see my reasoning...Good Grief...Smiles...Renee
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) Love your thinking on the hankies! I am right there with you, it is so true! xo Heather
DeleteVintage linens are one of my most favorite collectibles. You found some darling pieces. Those embroidered pieces are precious. I am looking forward to seeing your finished project using some of them.

Deleteps. how did you get the reply in your comments? that has always bothered me about blogspot, is i can't directly reply to someones comment. would love to know how you did it. :)
ReplyDeleteSure. What I did was I went to my blogger profile, and clicked on the button "edit profile". Then I made sure that under privacy, where it says "Show my email address" is checked. Try that and let me know if that puts the reply in your comments. I know I was a no-reply blogger because I didn't have it checked. Hope this helps, if not I'll try to figure out how else I could have done it. :) xo Heather
DeleteOh, and your "Show Your Profile" might need to be checked, too. :)
Deletehmmmm, i went into my dashboard and clicked on edit profile and made sure both those were checked. not sure what it could be. thanks for helping me figure it out. :)
Deletei figured it out!! yeah!! i had my comments set to have a pop up window, so when i switched it to embedded below post it added the reply option!! :)
DeleteOh, great! I'm glad you figured it out. I am still new at all this, so I am happy you got it! Have a great day! ;)
