At the flea market on Sunday, I came across these elegant shutters. Aren't they so neat! I have been looking for some small old window frames, and when I saw these, it was love.
Here is the back side. There are little rods on the top and the bottom, and I am hoping they pop out somehow. My plan this week is to replace the yellow fabric with some pretty rose fabric. I am thinking of doing three different fabrics, or just keeping it with one. Not sure yet, I will have to play around.
I also had some great luck with pretty vintage tablecloths. There is one vendor I always go to because they have such great deals, and then I came across a new vendor who had hundreds of hankies, and tablecloths. I had to say no to the hankies, it was very hard, but they were a little pricy. The tablecloths on the other hand were such a good deal, and in beautiful condition.
I am already thinking ahead for fall and Christmas. These will all become some pretty vintagey tea towels! The pretty pink one will be coming to the shoppe soon!
There is one vendor that has boxes, and tables all piled high with vintage linens. This is one is a favorite to go to, and it is always so hard not to take all of it with me. I bought three beautiful table runners, some pretty doilies, and a cross-stitch and embroidered "God Bless Our Home". I just adore the middle one with the cross stitch rose. Cross-stitching a rose is on my project list, so these are a daily reminder and inspiration for me!
Here is the pretty runner on my table. I just love it! Such work and detail went into it.
I was thinking of framing this, but then I thought how sweet it would look as a mini quilt to hang on my wall. The pansies are so pretty! Happy Wednesday...hope your day is lovely!
Gosh....how lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the God bless this house!xxx
Hi Heather! I am so jealous, vintage tablecloths are about 30.00 each here! When I do find one at my price they need hours of soaking in Oxyclean! I love the handwork on the dresser scarves! BEAUTIFUL work and it ends up at a flea market! Lucky for us!

ReplyDeleteTo answer you question... My husband and I are doing a lot better. He had back surgery June 4th and is recovering very fast :) I am feeling better as well. I received my first spinal epidural block shot on May 31st. It seems to be working somewhat, although I will probably have to have back surgury as well. The pain still comes and goes. My little family and I are still in good spirits. The lord will lead us into the direction he has chosen for us. I have put all of my faith into his better judgement.
I want to thank you for your continuous inquiry about our health. It really does mean a lot. You are a very sweet person! God bless! :)

Amen ~~ God Bless our home and such neat finds for your blessed home.

Dear sweet Heather,
ReplyDeleteOh..my, oh,..my! I love everyone of our delightful finds! I think your idea of putting vintage linens in your screen is genius! I can't wait to see it when you do it!
I am, also, a hound for vintage doilies, embroidered dresser scarves and runners. I have enjoyed so many hand other's embroidered blog posts! Lately, I have been setting aside some things to stitch. I will be spending some time with my 90 year old Mom and she loves to embroider, too. I can just see us side by side happily stitching away!
I, also, purchased some of the little birdie clothespins a while back (thanks to Renee's sharing where she found them). I have a long term project that I am working on and I will be using my new birdie pins to display and photo for a future blog post.
Thank you for your sweet comments on my Patti Play Pal post. I had fun working on it and it was my first video to post.
Have a lovely remainder of the week, my dearest friend!
Carolynn

ReplyDeleteGosh! Those embroidered and cross-stitched pieces are lovely! I definitely think you should make a mini quilt wallhanging out of the one. Would be so much more effective than just framing it. The tablerunner is so pretty! I love how you are able to take old items and give them a fresh new life again! Wishing you all the best, Tammy
