sweet friday

This week has been so busy for me working on projects, and just running around doing errands. My cousin is graduating from high school tonight. I am so excited for her. She goes to the same high school that I graduated from 12 years ago. Wow, how time races by.  I wanted to make her some pretty tissue paper flowers in yellow to remember this day and to always bring her a bit of sunshine.
These are my favorite paper flowers to make, and the ones I made for my wedding. I love how pretty, but simple they are.
Here is the link to the tutorial from Once Wed, if you would like to make some. I was thinking of making them for the 4th of July!
Thank you for all your sweet comments on the shutters and my new pretty linens!! I am making progress with the shutters. I removed the fabric, and cleaned them up. They were pretty dirty. So now, I am ready to choose the fabric, and sew some curtains!
I found some sweet Vogart embroidery patterns on Etsy. I have been wanting to find ones with the sweet little blue birds. Aren't they just so cute! The fruits are adorable, too, and I am looking forward to getting some time to embroider these patterns.
But, for now, vintagey tea towels and some other fun items are keeping my hands quite busy. These will all be making their way to my shoppe next week! Wishing you a beautiful and creative Friday!

  16. Hi Heather!
What a wonderful post! I love your crochet edged tea towels! You have accented the cheery florals so nicely with a perfect color accent.
I can hardly wait to see your screeens when you finish them! I know they will be darling!
I am so excited to, finally, begin some hand embroidery. Yesterday, we went to a Father's Day picnic and I brought my embroidery along. How nice it was to sit in the shade and stitch while I visited with friends!
I hope you have a great week, my sweet friend!
    Blessings,
