Happy Sweet Day!!
Hope that your week is going wonderfully! Sorry it has been quite around here, but I have been busy working and finishing up my newest project! My vintage inspired clothespin bag!! I have been wanting to make a clothespin bag for awhile, and knew those sweet kittens were the perfect start to this project.
The pattern was inspired by the pretty vintage clothespin bags I have come across. So, after working out some kinks and mistakes, it all sweetly came together! And, I love how it turned out!
Pretty vintage lace, an emerald green crocheted hanger lovingly crocheted by me using a vintage wooden hanger, with a sweet pink variegated flower and green and cream ties, pink gingham peaking through...
and some sweet hand-stitching around those cute kitties washing their lost mittens! ;) I used mostly reproduction prints to give it a more vintagey feel, which I just love!
And, the back sweetly adorned with some vintage lace!! It was such a fun process, and I can't wait to do some laundry or at least pretty vintage linens! ;)
Thank you so much to the most lovely Kathy of Kluless for having such a sweet Etsy shoppe with vintage laces and treasures, as I ran out of some lace trim in the process and she had what I needed to finish these pretties below!
So, if you would fancy one for yourself, I just listed these two vintage inspired clothespin bags in my shoppe! Embroidered and hand-stitched by me with lots of love and attention to detail. They each come with their own pretty crocheted hanger and flower, and they are both adorned with delicate vintage lace. You can see more details about them here and here. So, are you ready for 'wash day'?
Now back to my working on my hexies and ripples! What crafty goodness are you working on?
Wishing you all a beautiful rest of the week and weekend!!
Heather these are just gorgeous!!! I love all three of them! Your stitches are just fantastic! :) Wishing you a lovely rest of the evening, have fun with your ripples and hexies! I think I might work on my granny square blanket some too! :) xox Holly

Hi Heather,
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, you clever lady! Please may I enquire about the gorgeous green and red fabrics (I think they are the same?) on the fronts of the bags? As you know, that's just up my street! Have a super weekend.

These are lovely! My first sewing project ever - at school, aged about 6 - was a clothes pin bag. Oh how proud I was of it ... my Mum used it for years until it fell apart.
ReplyDeleteHeather you have truly out done yourself. Your cloths pin bags are so stinkin cute. I love how you incorporated that sweet embroidery. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! These are extremely adorable! Makes me want to line-dry my clothes just so I can use a clothespin bag!!
ReplyDeleteI just found your site today and I'm loving all the beautiful things I see while browsing through your old postings. I love laundry bags and just finished one myself. I don't know where the 3 kittens came from (my Aunt's old stash?) but I have that same pattern and that's what I used on my bag. I have fabric with clothespins and lettering on it so it looks much different. I love the pink/aqua combinations though. I also have a colonial lady hanging laundry that I want to make in the future.
