for the love of hankies

For my wedding a couple of years ago, I used vintage hankies for the cover of my wedding invitations. I had a small bag full of the leftover hankie scraps that I saved, knowing I would incorporate them somehow in a wedding scrapbook. Well, the scrapbook never happened. So, I thought the best way to display and remember all the beautiful hankies, was to do a mini scrap quilt.

I loved how they came out, and it brings such color to my bare white wall in my living room. The shapes were not all the same, but I think each one adds its own character to the quilt.

Here are some pictures of my latest find of vintage hankies. Some I received were from a grandmother of a dear friend, and the others were found at a flea market, and an antique store.

I am a big fan for hankies with roses, and bright colors. What about you?

I was so happy to find the yellow one with an "H" embroidered on it. I always find ones with other letters, but never mine. It was my lucky day.

Do you have a special hanky story or a way you have used them to create something crafty? Oh, I have a little obsession with hankies, so my apologizes ahead of time for my many future post of just beautiful hankies. :)

Thank you for entering my little give a way.
As for my share of what remains, it will become a quilt for my husbands cousin. :0)
