roses...

Well...I bought some more vintage Meyercord roses decals! Can you believe it! I know, but I can't resist these beauties!!

I had this perfect shabby white bench that was in desperate need of prettiness! I chose the red roses with the sweet yellow butterflies; perfect for spring!

If you have never used decals before, they are so great! You cut them up, soak in warm water for a little bit, then peel carefully, and place on your most lovely piece you're adorning.

Well, that sounds easy...but this decal was not cooperating with me! It kept ripping and separating!! You can tell in the first picture my best attempt to put it together. I guess it gives it a more vintage and shabby look, which I love!

Here are some of my enamelware that I used those smaller rose decals on, that I bought awhile back! They just make my crocheted dish towels, look so much prettier in their holder!

I just love how the roses made these cute enameled pots, pop with color on my kitchen wall!! Do you have any decals that you just love?

  4. sometimes those vintage decals are a pain to work with as they do fall apart. I have used them quite a few times and sometimes they don't cooperate at all. I have found that if you spray them with a couple of coats of spray varnish prior to putting them in the water that they stay together and the varnish helps keep them intact. They are adorable...

  15. Here's the tip...spray them with clear coat enamel (spray paint) first and let them dry before the water bath. That will keep them together. It took a number of decal disasters before I figured this out. Works like a charm. I use the matte finish but you can choose what you like best. Yours turned out darling...smiles..Renee

I haven't even thought about decals in decades. Maybe now, I'll have to
    hunt some down.
I have used craft rub-ons on jars, plates, etc.. and they've always turned out pretty
    cute.
