sewing susan

I love finding such lovely needle books. The graphics are so neat with the women sitting around sewing and talking. What fun!
The insides are so pretty with the different colored foil. There was such detail put into packaging and selling items back then, whatever happened to those days. ;)
Some fun flashbulbs!! Love the sweet image, and the colors!!
And, to my surprise all the bulbs were inside! Aren't they such a great color of blue, with the sparkly inside. These would be fun to use for some decoration for the 4th of July. Any ideas?
I got this sweet toy for my husband, and just adore the graphics. The cute boy flying his plane, and all the different fonts are so neat.
It has a factory sealed guarantee. And, when I opened this box...
All the parts were inside, including the decals for the jet fighter! It is ready to be put together, and I kinda want to do it. Seems fun! ;)
Some new calicos and reproduction feed sacks to play with, now that is my kind of fun!! Have a wonderful day!!

  20. My goodness you found some neat stuff. Sylvania flash bulbs ... now that'll take you back. Packaging these days is just throwaway like most of the items you buy. Nothing lasts for long or is appreciated as much as it was back then. Have fun with your goodies and have a lovely weekend. Tammy

  21. These are such amazing finds, in such great condition too!

Thought you would like an update on that cute little bungalow I kept blogging about... well he turned down our offer and a higher offer from someone else and has decided to sell it at auction with quite a high reserve. I'm fairly sure it wont sell and part of me thinks eventually he will give up and accept our offer, who knows, if it's meant to be! xxxxx

    1. Thank you for letting me know about the bungalow. Such a bummer, but keep your eye out because it could go back on the market after the auction, and he will accept you offer. Let me know what happens!! xo Heather

  24. Those old flash bulbs I think Laurie over at Magpie Ethel could give you some real good ideas for these. I love your fabric too what a great find that is. I made a quilt out of feed sack repo's two of them actually and they are my all time favorites! Nan

  25. Pretty vintage packaging gets to me too! I wish they put the same detail and effort into today's. I just found some vintage sewing items myself. I was really happy to find them. Your light bulbs are neat! Maybe you could add them to a wreath! I would want to put that plane together, too! What fun is a box of parts? They would be so fun displayed together. Plane and box. Love your cheerful squares.
    Blessings,
    Susie
