Happy Sweet Friday!
I finished my little project for my home last night, and really love how it turned out. I have been wanting to do some cross stitch for awhile, so I decided to do "Home Sweet Home" and make a mini quilt to hang.
One great thing about make vintage tea towels from tablecloths is that I always have left over pieces to create with, which I love!
I am also lovin' crocheted edgings, and thought it would be the perfect finishing touch to this sweet piece. I used a smaller hook and thread for the edging, and my hands were hurting by the time I was done. I'm always so amazed how sweet ladies crocheted with tiny hooks and thread to make doilies, and crocheted those beautiful edges on tablecloths or runners I am always on the hunt for. They were truly talented!
I have many black and white fabrics in my stash that I love, but for some reason don't use them often. I really need to start using them more, because I like how it looks!
Today is a little overcast, so sorry for the darker photos! I am enjoying the clouds and cool breeze, though! Hopefully it will stay through the weekend!
*I have a little update on my shoppe. I have opened up a new shoppe over at the wonderful Storenvy, which I would love for you to visit! I have some other fun things to update you on, which I will do next week!
Wishing you all a beautiful and creative weekend!!
Dear Heather, Home sweet home is really sweet..:)) I like little doily on it..:))
ReplyDeleteAll best wishes and all happy days..:))
Thank you sweet Beck!! xo Heather
DeleteLove your Home Sweet Home and especially your crochet edge. I am fine with yarn but, oh my, pearl cotton is WAY too small for me to enjoy working with you. Bravo to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy! The pearl was a little harder, but I got used to it. I don't think I could go smaller with a size D hook, though. ;) xo Heather
DeleteHi heather

Thank you! The lettering was simple, and I just sewed it on the fabric. I made it into a mini quilt with batting in between, and then crocheted the edging. Oh, I can't wait to see what you create! I am sure it will be beautiful!!! Have a lovely Sunday! xo Heather
