Happy Tuesday!
Hope that you had a wonderful weekend and started this week off wonderfully! I did a little treasure hunting over the weekend, and sadly came home empty handed. The stores have been a little bare, so maybe with spring here more things will start to appear!
I have such a soft spot for vintage quilts, and have always adored vintage Grandmother's Flower Garden quilts. There is something about all those hexies together with the beautiful prints, that I love! One day I hope to have a vintage one, but for now I thought it was time to make one of my own.
This will definitely be a labor of love, and I am not sure when it will be done, but I am looking forward to the whole process, and especially choosing the fabrics for each flower. I have made two so far, and plan to do a flower a week. So, hopefully at the beginning of each week I will have one to show you! ;)
Some pretty lavender by my front door that is in full bloom and attracting many sweet bees and darling hummingbirds!
Wishing you a beautiful and creative week!
You have a pretty start to your quilt. It will be so much fun to see your new block every week.
ReplyDeleteYour lavender looks so healthy..I can almost smell it now!
Have a geat week. xo
Thank you Sherri!! It does smell wonderful! It's my favorite! xo Heather
DeleteHeather,
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! I just joined and InchyFlowerSwap. Here's the link:http://inchyhexagonswap.blogspot.com/ this is the first time I have done this but we are suppose to swap two hexie flowers each month and the best part is you get to pick the color or style of fabric you need. Some are doing Civil War type or all solids etc... I am going red, aqua and pinks.I think there is still room for another swapper if you are interested.I can't wait to get started.Have fun with yours and let me know if you join up!
Jan
Thank you so much Jan! I will head over to check it out! ;) xo Heather

DeleteOh Heather, those are so pretty. My daughter and I are supposed to go fabric shopping in the next few weeks after her new sectional arrives. For her birthday, I'm supposed to recreate valances for her kitchen, breakfast nook and family room, using the ones currently there from the last owner. Once we get this accomplished, I will have a better idea of what to get her for you to make.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meri
Thank you Meri!! Oh, that sounds fun! Just let me know! Have a great day! xo Heather
