Happy Sweet Day!
Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary. We were so blessed to enjoy such a beautiful, spring day!!
Well, you know that I adore vintage pot holders, and this pretty one I bought awhile back at a flea market, and loved those summery colors!
It has a flat rose in the middle, which is sweet, and I love the circular shape with the scalloped edging!
And, the back is just as sweet! I have been wanting to make one, but in all the vintage crochet pot holder books I have been collecting, I haven't come across the pattern. So, I decided to just read the stitches and figure it out!
And, here it is! Well, at least the top part! I still need to make the back, and crochet the two pieces together, and then it will be finished! Are you working on any crafty goodness?
Wishing you a most lovely and crafty weekend!
So nice!!!!

DeleteHappy anniversary to you and hubby, it sounds like you had the perfect day! These are special times.
ReplyDeleteNow OMG It is the most gorgeous potholder that you found at a flea marker, I am soooo jealous!!! So not only did you find this lovely treasure you then go and recreate it even better, I am so impressed! Well done you.
So I am in this same potholder zone as you as it will soon be one of my next projects, once I finish the coat hangers, picnic blanket, etc, etc. Like you I have also looked through loads of lovely potholder pics, but none as amazing as this, so you do realise once complete, you might just have to share pretty plzzzeeee. DeleteWow - how clever of you - I love the colours you have chosen, that mottled pink is just perfect ... I've just recently discovered the world of vintage pot holders, and what a wonderful place it is! I bought a gorgie pattern from etsy the other day (actually it was for a mandala - not sure what that is, but it looked pot holder-esque, so that's what it is going to be chez moi!), now comes the fun choosing colours bit and then I actually have to try to figure out the pattern, it uses overlay crochet which I have never done before - I see a bit of youtube watching coming on!
ReplyDeleteEm xx
Thank you so much Em! Yes, vintage pot holders are so wonderful to collect and make! Happy crocheting! ;) xo Heather
