Hope that your week has started off wonderfully!
Well, over the weekend I finished the rose pot holder, and love how pretty it came out! I really enjoyed the process of figuring out the pattern and would say the only hard part was trying to count the chain lengths that were partially hidden by stitches, but it all seemed to work out!
The scalloped edging is the sweetest and I really adore the shape! It reminds me of a star, and I even thought this would be cute in red, white, and blue for the 4th of July or in some pretty summery oranges and yellows!
When I started the back, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do the same as the vintage pot holder pattern I was following or keep it all cream. I ended up adding the pink, but for next time will only do the cream because I don't really like how you can see it come through the top part, but it is still pretty. And, I have started another one so that I can make some adjustments, and try to write down the pattern. These may even appear in my shoppe as made-to-order, too! ;)
After making those sweet patchwork baby bibs, I was inspired to make a couple new pot holders for my kitchen. I love being able to practice my patchwork skills as I have always struggled with getting the corners to match perfectly, but I think I am finally improving!
I went to some thrift stores and the shelves were quite bare of treasures to bring home. Maybe this week! Do you have any sweet plans or crafty adventures this week?
Wishing you a beautiful and creative week sweet friends!!

ReplyDeleteYou are so amazingly talented with how quickly you've been able to recreate those potholders. Your patchwork potholders are so pretty. They remind me of miniature dollhouse bed quilts. Darling!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Heather! I think I agree with you that a cream back would have been even more perfect, but a pink edging looks good I think. Love your patchwork. Those corners are looking pretty perfect from here :)

ReplyDeleteThe quilted pot holders are cute but that crocheted (or tatted?) one is gorgeous! I'm a knitter but this makes me want to branch out :)

I LOVE them all. You have inspired me to make some patchwork ones with my scraps!
ReplyDeleteI have dozens of pot holders (vintage and homemade), but I can never resist buying or making more, lol. I am so impressed that you copied the crocheted one, you must have good eyesight :-) I have a stack of vintage patchwork quilt blocks that I have thought about making into more potholders. After seeing your oh-so-cute pieced ones, I think it's time to pull them out and do something with them.
