This weekend was the monthly flea market in my area, and I was so excited to go!! Walking along, this little beauty caught my eye!! Oh, yes an Ohio Art ironing board!!
Isn't it so sweet!! I just love the adorable size and pattern. It is in pretty good condition too, but the rust makes it even better!
Lovin' the Sunbonnet Sue with all the dresden flowers and cute stitched hearts!! Too precious!! I can only imagine what sweet little girl had this in her room, ironing her doll clothes and more! I wonder if there was a tin iron that went with it? I am sure it is out there somewhere!!!
The ironing board is ready to go, and it can start with all these sweet appliqué Sunbonnet Sues and butterflies that I bought.
I love to collect these sweet Sunbonnet Sue appliqués. I even bought a pattern book to make some of my own. There is just something about her that I just adore!
Here are some of the gorgeous butterflies. The stitching is beautiful!! I have never seen appliqué butterflies before, and I am excited to use them in some things for the shoppe!! I love all the beautiful vintage fabrics!! So pretty.
Over the weekend, I had some good time to work on my crocheted grannies and blocks!!
My stack of grannies is growing, and looked like I was pretty far along, until I laid them out on the floor the other day. Boy, do I have more to go to make an afghan. At least they are fun and easy to make!
Two more grannie blocks!! It was all about red this week!! Thank you for all your sweet comments on the Mother's Day post, and I hope that all you mother's had a beautiful and special day!Happy Monday!!
I've never seen those butterflies either! How sweet, as is the little ironing board. I can just see some little girl chattering to herself play ironing.

ReplyDeleteI like the colors that you are using on your grannies and blocks the bottom right one reminds me of the 4th of July, very festive. Can't wait to see how they all turn out, xo

DeleteHi Heather ~ What is it about rust? I tend to like rusty things too but I have not figured out what makes the rust so appealing. I found a rusty old milk container at Tuesday Morning but the price was $120.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day,
Sincerely,
Michele

Deletewoops...seems I have missed a few posts here...Love the book you have highlighted...what a treasure and the illustrations are so pretty! Thanks for the Holly Hock Mothers Day greetings! Love those flowers but as we have very little sun in our shade garden they don't do well...copper leaf......I plant them anyway as I love their floppy hats!
ReplyDeleteYour Ironing board...so dear and those Sun Bonnet Susie appliques! So funny you should say Dresden Plate...both those quilts are ones I have ..made by my mother...I shall post about them one day...you will love them...The Sun Bonnet Susie one has a bit of wear as I was younger & I used it with my two girls...all the better for a keepsake! The Dresden Plate is in all blues & whites as I picked all the fabric! I also love your granny squares...I have an afghan with them my Grandmother made...It is very vibrant!...almost Amish Quilt Vibrant! So very excited to see yours when it is done!
Well I have rambled on here....Thanks for always dropping by Heather & leaving your sweet comments!
Have a great sunny day!
