Happy Sweet Day!
Hope that you had a wonderful weekend! The rain cleared up on Saturday, and the sun came out and was shining brightly. I do love those days right after it has rained, with the big puffy clouds and crisp air! How was the weather for you?
Well, I am so excited to show you my finished vintage patchwork quilt!! I really love how sweet it came out, and it is my favorite quilt that I have made so far!
I love all the vintage fabrics and feed sacks mixed in with the pretty vintage cross stitch tablecloth. It was a great way to use some of my favorite prints and scraps!
I tied the quilt using a cream pearl cotton, and it worked out beautifully! I only tied in the corners, and was going to tie in the middle of the prints, but thought it would be too much. And after washing the quilt, it did not fray like the embroidery floss, so I was happy!
For the binding, I did a sweet vintage peach calico. It was my goal to only use only vintage fabrics that I already had, and I am so glad that I had a lot of the calico to use for the binding, because most of my vintage fabrics are on the smaller side.
For the back, I used a lovely red rose and cream fabric, and decided to do a little patchwork from some of the pieces I use on the front. I usually don't spend a lot of time on the backing, but I think I might start! I really love how it turned out!
After it was washed and dried, it really became so soft! I am thinking because the fabrics have been used and loved already that it made for an extra cuddly quilt!
Thank you all so much on your sweet comments on my crocheted spring eggs!
Wishing you a beautiful and creative week dear friends!
