an easter garland

Happy Monday!
I am so excited that it will officially be spring this week! And, I finished this little project just in time to welcome it in!
I have been wanting to make a sweet spring and Easter garland ever since I saw this darling bunny garland from the most lovely and talented Sandra from Cherry Heart. She has such a beautiful blog, and I am always so inspired by her gorgeous creations!
Then, I saw that Amy from NanaCompany also made an adorable spring garland, and they were both the sweetest to share their templates to make one, which you can find here and here! I loved them both, so I did a little combination!
I knew that I wanted to use some gingham for this project, so I took out some springy colors, along with my 30's Easter reproduction prints for the bunnies and eggs, and vintage eyelet lace to adorn the bottom of each piece.
I added some hand stitching to each one, which always gives it such a sweet, handmade touch. It was such a fun little garland to make, and it has inspired some thinking for a summer garland with strawberries! We'll see what I come up with!
With some little vintage wooden clothespins, it is hanging in my living room and ready to welcome spring in!! Thank you Sandra and Amy for sharing your darling templates and garlands!

Wishing you all a beautiful and creative week!

  29. Oh Heather, this Easter banner reminds me so much of the 70's when I was a teenager and young bride. I loved gingham so much - and eyelet lace. I love how you put retro things together, and I love how neat and pretty everything is.
