fall pillows and a winner...

Fall is in the air, and we even had a cool, overcast day yesterday. Today the sun is brightly shining, with the feel of fall getting closer. Do you ever have a long list of things or projects to do, but start another project that you really shouldn't be doing? Well, that was me yesterday!
Sweet Renee of My Vintage Mending introduced me to an adorable e-magazine called Bustle and Sew! Oh my, it is the cutest magazine full of wonderful projects, embroidery patterns, and more! Renee mentioned this sweet fall apple appliqué pillow project in the September issue that she thought I would like, and she sure knows me!
I subscribed right away, so that I could make the pillow! Yes, should I be working on the 20 tea towels, and more for my boutique? Of course I should, but how could I resist making this cute pillow!
So, I chose some of my favorite red fabrics, and starting cutting away these sweet apples with their pretty green leaves, and black felt stems! A little black stitching around the edges of the apples and leaves.
And, a pretty red scalloped edging for the finishing touch! I love how it came out, and  it was just the perfect addition to my fall decor, which I will have to show you next week! Thank you so much Renee for introducing me to the most darling magazine!
Last year, I made a couple fall tumbler pillows from one of my favorite lines, Little Apples by Aneela Hoey! I love quilting free-motion on smaller things!
The pretty grey with the pretty aqua, red, and olive green are so lovely together! There is something about all her fabric lines that I just adore!
And here they are sweetly waiting for the first day of fall!! Aren't you ready?

Congratulations CarlaYay! I will email you and get you contacted with Miss Natalie! Thank you all for entering into the giveaway!! Wishing you a beautiful day!

  19. Where is the apple pillow!? I just checked your Etsy listing; that is SO PERFECT! We had a frost in April after the apple trees had budded early when we had weird hot weather in March, very few if any apples this year in MN!

  35. Hi Heather!

I adore your sweet pillows - you have a wonderful eye for putting fabrics together. I have missed my visits with you and my goodness you have been a busy girl! Your birthday is in September? Mine is too! What day? Mine's the 17th - a Monday this year - no fun! Your new towels are gorgeous (of course) and you've found so many wonderful treasures. Wish it was feeling like fall here - no such luck - still in the 90s. I'm ready for soup and sweater weather. I'll have to keep a lookout for wooden sewing boxes for you now. Haven't been to many estate sales since school started. Maybe in October.....

    Hugs,
    Janelle
