Hello Dear Friends!
Hope that you had a lovely weekend and a sweet Valentine's Day! Well, I am excited that I finally finished my quilt top for Donna's quilt sampler! This is my first sampler quilt and it was so much fun making! I love how it turned out, especially with all those pretty prints together.
For the sashing, I didn't end up doing the little squares in between because not all my blocks measured up right, and I know I would have been pulling my hair out trying to get it all to line up. So, a simple white with the pretty floral sashing is what I decided, and I love it!
I am super excited because I am going to be sending the quilt out tomorrow to sweet Donna to have her quilt it! This will be my first quilt to have quilted. I am so looking forward to seeing what she does because her quilting is always so beautiful! And, I am excited because her pretty quilting will hide all my mistakes! ;)
For the Sew Sweet Bee, this month was the sweet Clara's of Clover and Violet and she had us make a log cabin block. I have actually never made one before, and really loved making it! Hope she likes it!
A few weeks ago I got these gorgeous fabrics from the lovely Shay of Simply Sweet Fabric and I thought they were just perfect for Valentine's goodies. I loved using them for some things in my shoppe and was still hoping to get a heart garland done, but doesn't look like that will be happening now. ;)
On Valentine's Day a beautiful packages arrived from the sweet Holly of Damita's Pretty Wrap and all these pretties were inside! I just love the sweet Valentine she made!! So creative and thoughtful!! Thank you so much Holly!
Well, I am off to continue working on a custom order and planning some spring items for the shoppe!
Wishing you a beautiful and crafty week, and thank you for visiting with me! xo

So many pretty colours ... I imagine your workroom full of rainbows!
ReplyDeleteYep, that white sashing really does the trick. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour sampler quilt turned out beautifully! You always make such lovely fabric choices. Too bad you had to struggle with block sizes not matching up. Sounds like the measurements in the instructions may need to be corrected. Quilt block measurements and seam allowances all need to be exact so that everything matches up perfectly when all the pieces are joined together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt. I'm popping in from Sew and Sow Farm - have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI love your fabric choices! Such sweet prints. I love sampler quilts but sometimes struggle to make it all look coordinated. You did it! It's beautiful. Jan from Sew and Soo (5 days x five giveaways) sent me over here to look at your blog. I'm so glad I visited. Very inspiring! Thank you!
